Abnormal accumulation of serous fluid in at least two body cavities or tissues.


USG


Fetal ascites, pleural, and pericardial effusions.


Subcutaneous edema, scalp, and body-wall edema (Figure 27.1).


Placentomegaly.


Causes


Immune—Rh alloimmunization.


Nonimmune—Others such as CVS, GIT, and maternal causes.
