A 49-year-old man with malaise and progressive cough for 1 month.
Imaging Findings
(A–C) Multidetector computed tomography (CT) axial (A), coronal (B), and sagittal (C) images. Extensive ground-glass opacity is appreciated in the left lower lobe and lingula, in some areas with a lobular distribution, and with a few patchy areas of denser air-space consolidation (arrows).
Differential Diagnosis
• Bronchioloalveolar carcinoma (BAC): In the differential diagnosis of pneumonia-like opacities in an adult, BAC should be considered.
