Case History
Two weeks after a normal vaginal delivery, this 34-year-old woman develops severe left breast pain and erythema. Clinically, she appears to have mastitis and is started on antibiotics.
Physical Examination
• left breast: diffusely tender and erythematous
• right breast: normal exam
Mammogram
• diffuse increased density (Figs. 113–1 and 113–2)
