FINDINGS Figures 183-1 and 183-2. Coronal and sagittal non-contrast T1WI, respectively. There is a hyperintense nodular small mass (neurohypophysis) (arrows) at the expected location of the junction of the infundibulum to the hypothalamus just behind and inferiorly to the chiasm. The infundibulum is absent. The adenohypophysis is barely visible. The normal intrasellar hyperintense posterior pituitary lobe is not seen.
DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS Suprasellar lipoma, Rathke cleft cyst, basilar artery tip aneurysm (especially if partially or completely thrombosed), small craniopharyngioma, aberrant neurohypophysis (ANH).
DIAGNOSIS Aberrant neurohypophysis (ANH).
