Case History
A 37-year-old woman who is 9 months postpartum presents with a new right breast lump. She recently had symptoms of right breast mastitis, which have improved on antibiotics. She is still nursing her baby.
Physical Examination
• right breast: smooth, soft, mobile mass at 6:00
• left breast: normal exam

Mass
• margin: well defined
• echogenicity: heterogeneous
• retrotumoral acoustic appearance: no shadowing
• shape: ellipsoid (Fig. 191–1)
