Clinical Presentation
A 4-year-old boy with recurrent episodes of abdominal pain and rectal bleeding.
Further Work-up
This study prompted the nuclear medicine scan.
(A) Pertechnetate nuclear medicine scan demonstrates a focal accumulation of radioactive tracer in the right lower quadrant that is at least as intense as that in the stomach and increases over time (arrow). (B) Frontal view from an air-contrast enema demonstrates a mass within the cecum, consistent with intussusception (arrow).
