DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS Top of the basilar syndrome, deep venous system thrombosis, neuromyelitis optica, viral encephalitis, Wernicke encephalopathy (WE), acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, Creutzfeldt-Jacob disease, mitochondrial disorder, and toxic-related changes (metronidazole).
