Clinical Presentation

A 70-year-old woman with a 20-year history of smoking presents with intermittent claudication. Her ankle–brachial index is 0.4.

Differential Diagnosis

• Superficial femoral artery stenosis: Indicated by multiple foci of luminal narrowing; the angiographic pattern is typical for atherosclerotic disease.
