Clinical Presentation
A 35-year-old woman presents with midepigastric pain.
(A) Double-contrast barium study of the duodenal bulb shows a pit of barium extending beyond the confines of the lumen (arrow). Several radiating folds (arrowheads) filled with barium extend into this pit, and there is mild deformity of the bulb, particularly near the pit. (B) The areae gastricae (arrowheads) are diffusely prominent throughout the gastric lumen.
Differential Diagnosis
• Duodenal ulcer scar caused by prior peptic ulcer disease:
