Clinical Presentation

A 42-year-old patient presents with hypertension refractory to medical management.

Conventional aortography shows beading of the right renal artery (arrow), indicating fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD).

Differential Diagnosis

• Renal fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD): Indicated by beading of the renal artery sparing the medial third.
  
• Atherosclerosis: Unlikely in a young adult with minimal arterial findings visible elsewhere.
