A middle-aged woman presents with chronic pain in the left foot, decreased range of motion, and a palpable mass.

(A,B) Radiographs of the left forefoot demonstrate localized first metatarsopha-langeal (MTP) joint space narrowing, subchondral sclerosis, and osteophyte formation (arrows). No erosions, subluxations, or osteopenia is seen.
