Clinical Presentation
The patient is a 57-year-old man previously treated for cirrhosis.
(A) Venography from a common femoral vein approach shows a patent inferior vena cava (IVC: small arrow) communicating via a short conduit (large arrow) with the superior mesenteric vein (SMV: arrowhead). (B) Delayed image shows a patent SMV (large arrowhead) and portal vein (PV: small arrowhead). (C) Further delayed image shows PV (arrowhead) and multiple mesenteric varices (arrows).
