CHAPTER 24 Atlas of Basic Surgical Procedures
The diagrams provided in this textbook are drawn with an emphasis on anastomoses and anatomic relationships (i.e., what is hooked to what). To better demonstrate these features, the authors took liberties with the sizes and lengths of the various organs, vessels, and ducts. Many of the techniques described here vary between institutions depending on the peculiarities of the patients’ anatomy and the surgeons’ preferences.
