CLINICAL HISTORY

Figure 35A: Radiograph of the abdomen demonstrates multiple foreign bodies that correlated with the given history, and identifies additional foreign bodies not revealed in the history. Straightened paper clips are identified in the lower quadrants. Objects made of plastic are not seen in the plain radiograph. Figure 35B: Radiograph of the abdomen of the same patient at a different time point demonstrates multiple ingested batteries in the stomach and duodenum. Four double AA batteries were removed from the stomach, with gastric ulcers and slight burns from the batteries identified at endoscopy.
