Abstract

Jejunization of ileum is defined as an increased number of ileal folds (>3 folds/in.) leading to an appearance of the ileal loops similar to the jejunal loop. Jejunal loops are located in the upper left abdominal quadrant, while ileal loops are distributed in the other abdominal quadrants. It is possible to localize jejunal loops by drawing an imaginary line on coronal images from the gallbladder to the superior aspect of the left iliac bone. Jejunal loops are located above this line. Ileal jejunization is one of the imaging findings suggesting celiac disease.

Ileal jejunization is one of the imaging findings suggesting celiac disease.
