Clinical photograph shows transverse approach for injection of plantar fasciitis. The patient lies prone on the examination table. The needle is inserted medially, almost horizontally.
Transverse US shows steroid injection for plantar fasciitis. A 23-g intravenous needle is inserted medially. Short-acting steroid (40 mg of hydrocortisone)
is injected superficial to the plantar fascia

Transverse US shows steroid injection of the ganglion . An 18-g intravenous needle
is inserted into the ganglion. Although no fluid could be aspirated, steroid (20 mg of Depo-Medrol)
was injected.
Clinical photograph of the same patient shows complete resolution of the ganglion after steroid injection, although no fluid could be aspirated before the steroid injection. The site of previous swelling is shown .
