In the celiac region adjacent to the portal trunk, at the level of the surgical area, CT-PET shows the presence of solid inhomogeneous tissue, which surrounds some metal clips, characterized by modest increase in the metabolism of glucose. This element is doubtful for locoregional recurrence of disease; nonspecific activation scar (granuloma) cannot be ruled out, though

57.4 Conclusions

The PET scan shows limited metabolism of the hepatic nodules reported in the previous contrast-enhanced CT. This element is compatible with secondary lesions from mucinous adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. Biopsy confirmation has to be done (Fig. 57.2).
