Presence of a metabolically inactive pulmonary nodule measuring less than a centimeter, in middle lobe of the right lung.
No areas of abnormal glucose consumption in the remaining parts of the body examined.
38.4 Conclusions
The PET scan shows mediastinal disease with a high carbohydrate metabolism, suspicious for cancer of the thymus, to be confirmed histologically.
Diagnosis is then confirmed histologically. See Fig. 38.2.
