Neurofibroma versus Schwannoma


Neurofibromas and schwannomas often cannot be differentiated by imaging. The features listed in Table 127.1can be helpful in differentiating between these two nerve sheath tumors. The most accurate differentiating signs are the target sign, pattern of enhancement, fascicular appearance, and a hyperintense rim.1
