At the peri-anastomotic bowel loops, adjacent to the metal clips, CT-PET shows a heterogeneously hypodense portion of tissue, which has negligible carbohydrate consumption. It is associated with intense and widespread increase in metabolism of the large intestine. This finding is nonspecific and must be related to the clinical signs and symptoms, in particular to non-specific inflammatory conditions or IBD
The alteration described at the MRI scan at the soma of L4 has no significant deposition of FDG and therefore indicates a benign disease.
Marked increase in the metabolism of the large intestine for nonspecific activation, to correlate to the clinical signs. Absence of pathological glucose deposition in other parts of the body examined.
19.4 Conclusions
The PET scan shows no focal lesions characterized by high metabolism indicating a recurrence of disease.
