Clinical photograph of an adult patient shows an arm mass image that had been slowly growing for 2 years.

Transverse US of the same patient shows a large, well-defined, mixed cystic/solid tumor within the biceps brachii muscle. Low-level echoes image consistent with hemorrhage are present within some cystic spaces. Some of these cystic spaces are clear image. Unlike bone tumor, a well-defined border in a soft tissue tumor does not favor benignity.

Transverse color Doppler US of the same tumor shows moderate hypervascularity in the more solid component of the tumor. The cystic area image is avascular. US-guided biopsy was performed.

Transverse T1 C+ FS MR of the same tumor shows avid tumoral enhancement with nonenhancing cystic areas image. The tumor contacts the humerus image. No cortical infiltration is evident. Histology revealed a synovial sarcoma.
