This issue of the Neuroimaging Clinics focuses on the complex subject of spinal infections. It is important for radiologists to be aware of various imaging features of spinal infections and distinguish them from degenerative inflammatory, metabolic, and neoplastic diseases. This issue reviews the role of imaging in spinal infections and provides the latest information on the pathophysiologic basis of various spinal infections. There are dedicated articles on interventional procedures, surgical treatments, and complications. There is also an article specifically devoted to pediatric spinal infections.
The guest editor of this issue deserves special notice. Turgo Tali is a world-renowned neuroradiologist, who was President of the highly successful XXth Symposium Neuroradiologicum. I am very honored to call him a friend and thank him and all of the article authors for taking time from their very busy schedules to produce such an outstanding issue.
