CASE 30 A 37-year-old man who underwent a total left hip replacement with a noncemented prosthesis one year earlier presents with left hip pain (Figs. 30.1 and 30.2). Fig. 30.1 Fig. 30.2 • A 20 mCi dose of 99mTc-MDP is administered intravenously. • A spot view of the left hip (0.5 million counts) is obtained 3 to 4 hours after tracer injection. • A 256 × 256 matrix is used for the spot image.
