97 A threshold value of ≤ –10 Hounsfield units (HU) can be used to differentiate renal angiomyolipoma (AML) from other renal lesions.1 However, intratumoral fat in AMLs may not be detectable on computed tomography (CT) in 4.5% of cases.2 In these cases, it is often not possible to distinguish an AML from a renal cell carcinoma.
