5.1 Legal Classification of Infectious Diseases
According to the Infectious Disease Prevention Act of China, the infectious diseases are classified into three types, namely, Classes A, B, and C, which are defined as legal infectious diseases. Legal infectious diseases are infectious diseases whose prevention, control, and treatment are guaranteed by laws. The primary listed legal infectious diseases include 37 infectious diseases, with 2 additional infectious diseases in recent years.
