CASE 68 A 76-year-old woman presents with a low-grade fever and weight loss. Contrast-enhanced axial computed tomography (CT) images of the abdomen demonstrate a soft tissue mass in the perirenal space involving the right kidney and associated with thickening of Gerota fascia. There is extension of the mass into the renal sinus with encasement of the renal artery. There is also destruction of the adjacent vertebral body (Fig. 68.1).
