Abstract

From day 1 to 7, development of approximately ten antral follicles from 2 to 6 mm in diameter happens in each ovary. Secretion of estrogen is low.

Why This Chapter in This Textbook?

Because without a basic knowledge of biochemistry of ovarian and adrenal synthesis of androgens and synthesis of estrogens by the ovary and peripheral organs particularly adipose tissue especially in obese patients, it is impossible to understand the role and the mechanism of action of these hormones in:
