Double-Outlet Ventricles

Definition

A type of ventriculoarterial connection in which both great arteries arise completely or predominantly from either the right or the left ventricle. Double outlet left ventricle is exceedingly rare.
Almost always associated with a ventricular septal defect

Classification of Double-Outlet Right Ventricle

Classification is based on the location of the ventricular septal defect relative to the aortic and pulmonary valves (Fig. 25.1).
