Teaching Point

18F-FDG–PET/CT may be a useful noninvasive tool for identifying and localizing active intestinal inflammation, not only in adult but also in pediatric patients with IBD. Even if 18F-FDG–PET/CT currently does not replace conventional studies, this functional approach may be useful when conventional studies either cannot be performed or fail to be completed.
